RMM ROI calculator: estimate time and cost savings
Turn endpoint count, ticket volume, technician time, loaded labor cost, and recurring software spend into a transparent monthly and annual model. Then replace the example assumptions with evidence from one controlled endpoint.
Use the right numerator
Model capacity, not imaginary revenue
RMM does not create savings merely because an agent is installed. Value appears only when a verified workflow reduces technician effort, replaces a real recurring cost, improves service capacity, or avoids work the team would otherwise perform.
monthly modeled value = verified labor value + current recurring tool cost − proposed recurring tool cost
- Keep retained security, backup, documentation, and support tools in the cost.
- Treat unmeasured time savings as zero until the pilot produces evidence.
- Review migration, implementation, training, and risk outside the recurring model.

Estimate value with assumptions you can verify
The starting values are an example, not a Nizlo performance claim. Replace every field with your own baseline, then validate the time assumptions during a controlled trial.
Modeled monthly result
+$726
Labor value plus recurring tool-cost difference. This is a model, not a guaranteed saving or return.
- Monthly tickets modeled
- 50
- Technician hours reclaimed
- 10
- Labor value
- $500
- Recurring tool-cost difference
- +$226
- Modeled Nizlo subscription
- $74
- Annual modeled result
- $8,712
No credit card required. Starting a trial does not reserve a Founding Tester position.
From estimate to evidence
Validate the result in four steps
01
Record the baseline before installing anything
Choose a recent four-week period. Record ticket count, hands-on minutes, repeat maintenance hours, tool invoices, endpoint count, and technician count. Do not reconstruct the baseline after seeing the result.
02
Run the same workflow on one authorized endpoint
Use a real but low-risk device. Test enrollment, inventory, one alert, one patch decision, one script, one remote session, and clean removal. Time the whole workflow, including failures and follow-up.
03
Replace assumptions with observed evidence
Update minutes saved, routine hours, and retained-tool costs with the pilot result. If a capability still requires another product or manual step, keep that cost in the model.
04
Write the expand-or-remove decision
Expand only if the workflow passed, security controls are acceptable, the measured result clears the break-even threshold, and the team has an accountable rollout and rollback plan.
Prove one workflow
Replace the estimate with your own trial evidence
Start with one authorized endpoint, time the same workflow, and update the calculator with the observed result before expanding.
