Lunixar alternative: RMM pricing and feature comparison

Lunixar combines Windows and Linux RMM with per-technician or per-device pricing. Nizlo is a Windows-first RMM with unlimited endpoints on flat public plans. They are not equivalent products.

The honest short version

Lunixar has the stronger published scope for Linux, third-party application patching, vulnerability context, network discovery, and SNMP. Nizlo does not claim that breadth. Nizlo's narrower case is a Windows-first team whose fleet size makes unlimited-endpoint plans easier to budget than per-device growth.

Published pricing

Lunixar: $79/month per technician for Professional with 250 shared endpoints, or $0.75 per endpoint/month on the device plan. Lunixar also publishes annual options and add-on endpoint blocks.

Nizlo: $59/month Core, $79/month Scale, or $99/month Suite, with one technician and unlimited RMM endpoints included. Additional technicians are $15/month each.

Trial

Lunixar: 14 days, no credit card, full features, and up to five devices.

Nizlo: 14 days with no credit card or automatic charge. Scale trial access includes unlimited RMM endpoints.

Endpoint platforms

Lunixar: Windows and Linux. Linux includes inventory, monitoring, Bash, patching, and security posture, but not interactive remote desktop.

Nizlo: Windows and macOS agents are available. Nizlo remains Windows-first; Linux is a limited private preview and does not include Linux patching or remote desktop.

Patching and security context

Lunixar: Windows Update, third-party application patching through WinGet, Linux package updates, and vulnerability context using CVE, CISA KEV, and EPSS data.

Nizlo: Windows Update patching with approval, scheduling, reboot controls, and result evidence. Nizlo does not claim a broad third-party app catalog or vulnerability-management parity.

Remote access

Lunixar: Interactive remote access is available for Windows from a browser or app. Lunixar says Linux interactive remote desktop is not currently available.

Nizlo: Built-in remote workflows for supported endpoints. Validate consent, unattended access, roles, revocation, and retained evidence in the trial.

Network and service scope

Lunixar: Network discovery and SNMP sit alongside monitoring, automation, reports, patching, and vulnerability workflows.

Nizlo: Monitoring, alerts, patching, scripts, automation, reports, remote workflows, and a ticketing foundation. Nizlo does not claim SNMP or network-discovery parity.

Lunixar is the stronger fit when

Linux and broader technical depth lead

  • Linux monitoring, Bash, and package patching are required now
  • WinGet third-party patching or vulnerability prioritization matters
  • network discovery and SNMP belong in the RMM decision
  • a five-device full-feature trial is enough to validate the workflow

Nizlo may be worth testing when

Windows-first endpoint economics lead

  • a one-technician team manages more than 250 RMM endpoints
  • flat public pricing is preferable to per-device growth
  • the current fleet is Windows-first and does not require SNMP or Linux patching
  • unlimited trial endpoints make a wider authorized pilot practical

Compare fleet economics at the same scope.

At one technician and 250 endpoints, Lunixar Professional and Nizlo Scale both publish a $79 monthly starting point. The model diverges as endpoints or technicians grow. Include every retained Linux, network, security, PSA, backup, and documentation tool; flat RMM pricing alone does not establish a lower total cost.

Run the same pilot in both products

Begin with authorized lab or noncritical systems. Define the expected outcome before setup and preserve the evidence needed to explain the decision later.

Test 1Enroll the same authorized Windows devices and reconcile customer, site, hostname, user, serial, agent version, and duplicate identity.
Test 2Trigger identical offline, disk, service, and resource conditions; compare routing, persistence, recovery, noise, and technician effort.
Test 3Run the same Windows patch ring; compare approval, scheduling, reboot behavior, exceptions, reporting, and partial-failure evidence.
Test 4If third-party patching matters, verify each required application in Lunixar and document the separate Nizlo-side workflow instead of assuming parity.
Test 5Open an authorized Windows remote session and compare setup, consent, role boundaries, revocation, unattended access, and retained evidence.
Test 6Price one technician at 100, 250, 500, and 1,000 endpoints, including add-on technicians and every tool retained beside either RMM.
Test 7Test one representative Linux endpoint in Lunixar if Linux is in scope; do not treat Nizlo's private preview as production parity.
Test 8Remove agents, revoke technicians, stop schedules, export required records, and prove access no longer succeeds.
