ManageEngine Endpoint Central MSP alternative for small MSPs
Endpoint Central MSP is a mature multi-tenant endpoint-management and security platform with broad device support. Nizlo is an earlier-stage Windows-first RMM with unlimited-endpoint plans. They are not equivalent products; compare them with the same authorized pilot and complete commercial scope.
The honest short version
Endpoint Central MSP belongs on the stronger shortlist when multi-platform UEM, software deployment, mobile-device coverage, endpoint security options, mature APIs, or on-premises deployment are required today. Nizlo does not claim that breadth or maturity. Its narrower case is a Windows-heavy team testing transparent, unlimited-endpoint RMM economics with a smaller operating surface.
Published entry pricing
Endpoint Central MSP: The cited Endpoint Central MSP pricing page lists a 50-endpoint, one-technician Professional tier at $104 monthly or $1,045 annually. Edition, deployment model, endpoint count, technicians, and security add-ons change the total, so confirm the exact quote.
Nizlo: $59/month Core, $79/month Scale, or $99/month Suite. One technician and unlimited RMM endpoints are included; additional technicians are $15/month.
Evaluation path
Endpoint Central MSP: ManageEngine documents a 30-day trial. Its FAQ says the evaluation uses the Professional edition and later converts to a Free edition capped at 25 endpoints and one administrator; verify the MSP Cloud or on-premises path you plan to test.
Nizlo: 14 days without a credit card.
Platform and device breadth
Endpoint Central MSP: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, ChromeOS, servers, desktops, mobile devices, tablets, point-of-sale devices, and Chromebooks are documented across the current MSP overview and requirements pages.
Nizlo: Windows-first. Windows and macOS agents are available for managed deployment; Linux is planned.
Patching and endpoint security
Endpoint Central MSP: Multi-platform OS and third-party patching, test-and-approve controls, software deployment, inventory, configurations, and optional vulnerability and security add-ons are documented by ManageEngine.
Nizlo: Windows-first patch policies and evidence. Validate approval, scheduling, restart behavior, targeting, exceptions, failure handling, and audit history during the pilot.
Remote work and APIs
Endpoint Central MSP: Remote access, customer-scoped inventory, patch-management APIs, reports, OAuth scopes, and a broader documented endpoint-management surface are available today.
Nizlo: Remote sessions, scripts, jobs, policy automation, webhooks, and an earlier-stage integration surface. Nizlo does not claim Endpoint Central MSP's platform or API breadth.
Operating model
Endpoint Central MSP: A mature multi-tenant platform with cloud and on-premises deployment options, customer isolation, role-based access, and endpoint-based licensing.
Nizlo: Cloud-hosted, earlier-stage RMM aimed at smaller Windows-heavy MSPs and IT teams that want public entry pricing and a narrower controlled pilot.
Endpoint Central MSP is the stronger fit when
Cross-platform UEM breadth is required now
- Windows, macOS, Linux, mobile, ChromeOS, and mixed device classes matter
- software deployment, inventory, configurations, and security add-ons are required
- cloud or on-premises deployment flexibility is important
- the team accepts endpoint-tier pricing and edition or add-on decisions
Nizlo may be worth testing when
The immediate job is a smaller Windows-first RMM pilot
- unlimited-endpoint economics and public entry pricing matter
- one to three authorized noncritical endpoints can prove the workflow
- UEM, mobile-device, and broader security needs are handled elsewhere
- direct roadmap access and an earlier product stage are acceptable
Run the same controlled pilot
Start with authorized lab or noncritical systems. Define the expected result, preserve evidence, exercise failure paths, and compare the complete operating cost—not just the subscription line.
