Zoho Assist alternative when you need more than remote access

Zoho Assist is established remote-support software. Nizlo is an earlier-stage Windows-first RMM with remote support inside a wider endpoint workflow. They are not equivalent products, so test the operational gap instead of treating both as generic remote tools.

The honest short version

Choose Zoho Assist when affordable attended support, cross-platform unattended access, session collaboration, customization, and help-desk integrations are the priority. Test Nizlo when technicians also need monitoring, alerts, patches, scripts, customer context, and reporting in one small Windows-first pilot.

Nizlo does not claim Zoho Assist's maturity, connection performance, platform reach, mobile support, installed base, or integration ecosystem. Zoho Assist publishes useful diagnostic and device-management tools, but buyers still need to validate the monitoring, alerting, patching, and policy system around remote access.

Zoho Assist vs Nizlo: the operating differences

Primary job

Zoho AssistA cloud remote-desktop product for attended support, unattended access, screen sharing, session collaboration, diagnostics, customization, and help-desk integrations.
NizloAn earlier-stage Windows-first RMM that places remote support inside endpoint inventory, monitoring, alerts, patching, scripts, automation, reports, customer and site context, and a ticketing foundation.

Remote Support pricing

Zoho AssistCurrent annual seat-based pricing lists Standard at $10, Professional at $15, and Enterprise at $24 per technician per month, with two, four, and six concurrent sessions respectively.
Nizlo$59/month Core or $79/month Scale with one technician and unlimited RMM endpoints. Additional technicians are $15/month, and the public plans are billed monthly.

Unattended Access pricing

Zoho AssistThe annual unattended plans list Standard at $10 and Professional at $15 per month for 25 unattended computers. These plans allow unlimited technicians to access configured devices; taxes and larger custom or concurrent plans can change total cost.
NizloThe public Core and Scale plans do not meter RMM endpoints. Technician count, fair-use boundaries, Windows-first fit, and product maturity still belong in the pilot.

Endpoint operations

Zoho AssistZoho Assist publishes device inventory, groups, diagnostic tools, commands, bulk deployment, Wake on LAN, session confirmation, scripts on higher plans, and remote power controls. Its core product is remote support and access.
NizloMonitoring, alerting, patching, and policy workflows sit alongside inventory, reviewed scripts, signed jobs, output, reports, and attributable activity in the RMM scope.

Platform and ecosystem

Zoho AssistOfficial documentation covers Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, iOS, and Raspberry Pi scenarios, plus Zoho Desk, ServiceNow, Zendesk, Freshservice, Freshdesk, Jira, API, SDK, and other integration paths.
NizloNizlo is cloud-hosted and Windows-first. Customer, site, group, technician, policy, job, report, and support context share one console; it does not claim Zoho Assist's maturity, platform breadth, or ecosystem.

Evaluation boundary

Zoho AssistZoho Assist advertises a 15-day free trial with no credit card and a separate free plan. Confirm current regional price, tax, renewal, technician, concurrent-session, device, and add-on terms before testing.
NizloOne 14-day no-card RMM trial that does not automatically convert into a paid subscription. Applying or starting a trial does not reserve a Founding Tester position.

Zoho Assist is the stronger fit when

Affordable cross-platform support leads

  • attended support or unattended access is the central requirement
  • cross-platform reach, mobile support, and collaboration matter
  • Zoho or third-party help-desk integrations shape the workflow
  • a low-cost free or seat-based remote-support entry point is important

Nizlo may be worth testing when

The endpoint lifecycle must share context

  • monitoring, alerts, patching, scripts, and reports need the same endpoint record
  • flat public monthly pricing is easier to model
  • customer and site separation belongs inside day-to-day operations
  • an early Windows-first product and direct founder access are acceptable

Run the same pilot in both products

Begin with authorized lab or noncritical systems. Define expected outcomes before the test and preserve enough evidence to explain the final decision.

Test 1Map each technician, simultaneous session, unattended computer, mobile or IoT need, and add-on to the correct Zoho Assist plan, then compare the complete annual cost with Nizlo's monthly plan.
Test 2Install both products on the same authorized, noncritical Windows endpoints and reconcile identity, assignment, online state, deployment behavior, and removal.
Test 3Run the same attended and unattended support sessions; compare connection flow, consent, reboot and reconnect, technician transfer, revocation, diagnostic tools, and retained evidence.
Test 4Trigger identical offline, disk, service, and resource conditions; record what each product detects, whether it creates an alert, and any additional monitoring system required.
Test 5Run the same operating-system and third-party patch cycle and compare discovery, policies, approvals, schedules, reboots, exceptions, retries, and audit history.
Test 6Execute the same harmless script and compare plan availability, targeting, context, output, history, cancellation, offline behavior, and technician attribution.
Test 7Separate two test customers and prove devices, technicians, sessions, jobs, reports, groups, policies, and usage stay correctly scoped.
Test 8Remove both agents, revoke access, export required evidence, and list every remaining dependency, subscription term, integration, and manual operating step.
